Kim Lancaster, Mezzo Soprano and Flutist

Kim Lancaster holds a Master or Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Church Music. She has been teaching private voice and flute for over twenty-five years. Kim has continued her musical training with the Deva Vocal Method and Estill Voice Training.

The voice is a most dynamic instrument, always changing and developing and is deeply affected by the singer’s emotional and physical well being, making it always exciting and challenging to master. Kim enjoys learning about how to continually improve her voice and her skills as a music instructor.

Kim has served as the Board Chair and the Soprano Section leader for the Ars Nova Singers, a Boulder-based a capella choir specializing in renaissance and 20th century music, and has been featured in solos, small ensembles and jazz ensembles where her performance was reviewed by the Denver Post as “refined and emotionally resonant”. She was also the vocal coach for the Sweet Adeline's High Country Chorus. Kim has participated in local area theater, performing in both musical and classical theater. Her favorite roles include Kate in “Kiss Me, Kate”, Titania in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, Lady Capulet in “Romeo and Juliet” and Nettie Fowler in “Carousel”.
